I need info Remove rear caliper

Featured Replies

I need some info on how to remove the rear brake calipers from my 98 subaru legacy outback wagon.

Been a while but if you search a little bit you'll find the info here.

Remember those rotors have "drumette's inside fo rthe parking/Ebrake cables and shoes.

here is ref to FSM. Use the 97 one.

Not sure if you have one or two bolts (14mm) on a 98. If not 2, the topmost bolt is only a sliding pin.

Remove both, clean and relube when reinstalling.

Need a c clamp to compress the piston back into the bore.

A youtube search will have some diy's.

O.

it's really easy.  with the wheel off it takes one or two 12mm bolts (there are two different styles - yours is probably 2 bolts) and the caliper comes off.  there's no need for directions in removing the caliper it can literally be done with your eyes closed it's so easy.
