oil pump gasket

Featured Replies

anybody know where i can get an oil pump gasket for an 88 gl wagon? ive looked all over the internet and cant find anything.

RockAuto. If that fails, (which it shouldn't) contact ShawnW on here. He's the board admin, and owns a Subaru specialty shop. He can get it for you, im sure.

i checked out rock auto. they had a gasket but it wont fit my oil pump. im confused do i not need like an actual cork gasket? i have the mickey mouse O-ring deal but i thought i could get gasket too.

I don't remember specifically on the ea82, but the ej engines use gasket glue on the oil pumps. It is far superior to any cork gasket material.

Tere is no gasket beyond the mickey mouse seal. If it makes to feel better, apply a dab of ultra grey where the seam of the block goes behind the oil pump housing. There is a shaft seal, then the mickey, and just a round inner o-ring .This makes 3 total parts for the oil pump seals.

what he said - mickey mouse gasket, oring, and shaft seal.  dabs of sealant (very small) go on oil pump housing at 12 noon and 6 oclock where the case halves meet if you look closely at the block.  i suspect that step is probably skipped fairly often but it's in the FSM.

a slight film of oil is good to ease installation. use a liberal amount on the trochoidial rotor.
