April 21, 200421 yr Installing a APEXi super AVC-R and was wondering if you guy had any diagrams that show pin location for the stock ECU. Anythin would be a great help thanks
April 21, 200421 yr i was wondering how an apexi AFC would work on our cars. i heard certain cars don't like them..
April 21, 200421 yr Author Not sure. I think subarutex has one of those installed. But a AfC is differant than a AVC. The AFC stand for Air Flow Converter and is used for air/fuel managment. AVC stands for actuator Valve controller and is used for boost controll.
April 21, 200421 yr ahh so your doing what i just did with a saab apc unit.. but mine does not interface with the ecu but dam does it make a difference i need to get a intercooler before i go and readjusting the apc for more boost i would suggest you do the same ..unless of course you have a intercooler already
April 22, 200421 yr Author I need the following locations on a 87 turbo ECU: -RPM and or injector signal -ECU ground -throttle position -speed signal -ECU 12v power
April 22, 200421 yr Here ya go man. This was originally from Skip, got it many moons ago. http://www.subarutex.com/Forum%20Pics/ECU.jpg Have fun. And yes, the SAFC works good on our cars. Let me know how the AVCR goes. I'm looking at picking one up too. But $400 (used, $600 is retail i think) is a bit of change to throw down. How much did you get yours for?
April 22, 200421 yr Author I was lucky to pick this one up for $150. I was originally on ebay but sence the guy ended up living two blocks away he ended it early and gave me a good deal. Thanks to by the way. I will be installing an older apexi afc-r could you give me any info to make the install easier?
April 22, 200421 yr I have an older one too. I have the wiring instructions for it if you need. I really didn't have a problem with it on install. Just take your time! When you get a chance we need to get together. Oh... still looking for exhaust? PM me:brow:
