looks like I may drive this Hog Tomorrow, today I tidied up the engine compartment, lengthened a heater hose, a gas hose, moved some wires around, moved the rad top forward 1/2", lengthened the steering knuckle,  mounted a 2000 Y pipe in, looks more like a U-pipe ,bought a rad hose, so looks like shifting linkage, driveline, rear track bar and its a driver, been just over a month so far, still got tons left to do , hope to hit the trails in a couple weeks

I like the Subaru and hey its makin me a living, should hit the trail next weekend , still want to take a dualrange and add some real lower gears in the low range area, might take some welding and machine work with some added parts

How many degrees of motion do you have in that driveshaft center joint & what vehicle was the donor?

the front is stock 90 Subaru wagon from the car, rear u-joint and flange  is Toyota pickup, not sure motion, it does have forward/reverse movement, its like a cv joint

more gusset at the pan hard mount frame wise . Like . A LOT. Both sides.

I just keep wanting you to build something that will last.

Why won't you ? lol

Hmmm  I thought you might notice that

Ah, I get it...the center is a trunion joint.

Correct?

It's a DOJ type CV.

Looks like a late 90's legacy driveline.  Some models have this type, others it's just a Ujoint.

My thought is that it won't have enough slip.  it's not a slip yoke.  When that axle starts going up and down that joint may not have enough travel.

Scott, look into Nissan and Izuzu drivelines.  Same input ends at the trans, and flange at the axle.  Get 2wd model one from nissan will have slip section in it.

Looks good.  How was it for road manners?  I'm guessing a front tube bumper is in the plans.
