I just installed a Subaru 2.5L out of a Legacy in my Baja bug. it seem that the rev limiter is set to 4200rpms is there any way to raise it up to around 6000 rpms ?

+1 speed senser needs imput try a inline speed senser mabee find one on 90s ford thats inline

I can do that.  what pin on the computer is the VSS?  does anyone have a copy of the pin out?

the computer came out of a 1999 Outback Legacy with an auto tranny.

That rev limiter you are hitting is "limp mode". A lack of a VSS signal will put the car in limp mode.

There's a pin that needs to be grounded so the ECU doesn't look for the auto trans.

Also need to ground a pin to tell the ECU the manual trans is in gear, unless you used a Subaru trans, in which case you can just hook up the switch.

Nice rig....Does the radiator function well at its present location?? IMO, it looks a bit awkward where it is mounted. You would get better air flow if you swapped radiator and spare tire mounting  locations. Something to think about.

Very nice job !!! a 90-92 wire harness from legacy will run that engine and needs no vss to run i use this harness becuse is non obd2 and has no limp mode makes better power to. You may want to think about that harness have had many problems trying to stand alone 95 and up harneses

the radiator seems to work fine. it does 80mph all day long. I wanted to keep the weight down low.
