April 27, 200421 yr Still trying to get all the air out What is the proper rotation for bleeding the brakes on a 1988 GL wagon ? Ive been doing rear right, rear left, front right, front left. Had to bleed the master cylinder also If I bleed the master cylinder do I then have to bleed the brake cylinders again? And finally how do you adjust the rear drums? Mine are worn down and need to be tightend up some! Thanks oh one last thing; do I need to bleed the hill holder since I bled the master cylinder? how do I do this exactly; there is a fitting on top and on bottom of the hill holder... bleed the top one?

QUOTE] The order in which you bleed the wheel cylinders/calipers seems fine, but once you opened up the master cylinder to bleed it you introduced air into the lines again. Therefore you need to bleed each wheel cylinder/caliper again in the proper order. Right rear, Left Rear, right front, left front. Unsure about your hill holder. Bill

Front left and right rear are on the secondary MC chamber.(front) Front right and left rear are on the primary MC chamber.(rear) Don't forget to adjust the parking brake cable at the same time as you do the brake pads. April 28, 200421 yr For adjusting the rear shoes for a worn drum, my 89 DL has manual adjusters. I turn em clockwise till the drum won't spin any more then back em off about half a turn. Some of these cars have automatic adjusters though.

I will start over and bleed the master one more time; then do the wheel cylinders in the above order. Hope I get it all out this time
