January 31, 201412 yr Have a 2003 Baja that is leaking coolant between the engine and firewall. When underneath, you can see anti-freeze on the inner cv joint boot. Any ideas where the leak may be coming from?
January 31, 201412 yr That is most likely coming from the heater core or the coolant hoses going from the block to the heater core. Pretty easy fix, but I would stop driving it to avoid an expensive fix!
January 31, 201412 yr Replacing the heater core is not an easy fix. The entire dash has to be pulled. The last one I did took 5 hours just to pull the dash.
January 31, 201412 yr Could be a leaking headgasket. The leaking coolant would be swept back towards the firewall. Check the lower rear portion of the headgasket to see if it is wet to the touch.
January 31, 201412 yr John thanks for pointing that out, I should've been more specific, I meant replacing the coolant hoses haha. You mean taking out an entire dash isn't an easy fix? Well I guess if you dont use a sawzall and hammer like when I took the harness and ecu out of both legacy donor cars for swaps its not easy to get to.
January 31, 201412 yr Headgasket and headgasket running off bottom Ds lower rear corner of head seam. If you can see it leaking means coolant is finding its way into oil This can cause damage to engine
February 1, 201412 yr Author Thanks fellows, seems that the coolant tube to the throttle body was leaking. Thanks for all the input.
