California Car...

Featured Replies

What makes one of these a Cali model? I'm thinking ecu, injectors, and throttle bore. Anyone know specifics?

As far as I remember, Some Old-School Subarus from the EA81 engined series, weren't allowed to have an EGR system, so it was Blocked for California only, also more smog stuff requirements.

By the way, my 1985 Subaru EA82 "BumbleBeast" came running that year (new) from California to Honduras, and it had EGR... and lots of Smog control stuff, the engine bay was a spaghetti of hoses everywhere, prior to my Weber carb Swap.

Kind Regards.
