lift help, too much camber

Featured Replies

So I don't know where I went wrong, I tried finding good pics of strut spacers but couldnt. I have an 84 wagon I did a 4" body and 5" suspension lift on. I read that the strut blocks need to be cut at about 15°. The way I cut them was like so /=/ flip that 90° was it supposed to be cut only on one side? I like how high it is, just not the camber. I now have the engine and tranny in the car and it still has about as much camber as in the bottom picture sitting on all fours.

If you really cut the Strut Blocks in Angle, there is a Chance that you had flipped them 180º where those should be mounted, so they increase camber instead of decreasing it.

on  a EA81 you will need to beat in the inner strut area if done right  to allow the strut and strut tower to come in properly , also the camber looks worse up on jacks, need engine weight and sitting normal to actually see , also a side view of your strut tower will tell us more

Loyale 2.7 turbo, I think you're right , I didn't have to bash the strut towers in when I put the spacers in and I now see why it has so much camber. I'll take pictures after work. And I'll flip the blocks around.

Yes, but also this is very good advice:

... the camber looks worse up on jacks, need engine weight and sitting normal to actually see...

Kind Regards.

i'm always thinking it's off when it's up in the air - hard to imagine it setting properly, then it does actually go back to normal once loaded and on the ground.

but yeah - yours is way off, that's crazy!

Install the blocks so they push the strut tops inward....not outward.

Turbosubarubrat I have the dash harnes, steering wheel and tail lights installed that I got from you. I'm waiting to do the hatch till I get closer to having it driving and ready for paint.
