Hi folks

Amongst my stash of Subaru parts is a cardboard box full of these... can anyone tell me what it is & for which model(s)?

It's just under a couple of inches in diameter (smaller than an EA81 fuel filter) and if you look down the larger of the two "pipes", there looks to be a spring inside.

Thank you!

Fred, its name is Fred.

jk

do you see it on this diagram ?

Not a check valve.

Looks like the Bowl Vent valve for carbed models.

does it have a brand name, logo or part number in its moulding/casting ?

thinking you wil find Hitachi logo - two boxes of different axis inside a circle ?

two ports same size as each other, so figure it is an interuptor valve of air or vapours controlled by a vacuum applied to the smaller port ...for starters

Yep, it has the (1970s?) Subaru "wing in a circle" moulded on the shoulder near the top port (just visible in the last of the 3 photos above)...
