I just picked up a 97 Impreza sport for the 2.2 to swap into my 85 Gl. Ultimately I would like the 2.2 with a 5 speed duel range everything else is icing on the cake. So the question is has anyone swapped the 5x100 hubs to the older E81 cars.

I see why you had issues if you search five lug swap, it leaves out "lug".

Also noticed you said ea81 not ea82 so this might answer more questions.
