Hi guys!

I am new to this forum and Subaru world. But actually my first car was a Subaru 360....well it was driven by dad when I was a toddler. BTW, this weekend I will finally be able to buy a '79 Brat for myself.

I am glad to have found you guys here!

Thanks,

bk914 :)

Welcome!

We love photos here, so don't forget to share photos of your Subies...

by the way, would you mind to share photos of your dad's Subaru 360?

That would be Awesome!

Kind Regards.

Hey Loyale 2.7 Turbo,

Thanks for the welcome message from Honduras!

There is a one photo of the 360 & me in his biography that he wrote but I don't have a scanner so I have just asked him to send me some pix. He had 2, one was bought used and other one was a brand new. Bet he really loved that car.

I might end up posting 360 photos before my Brat though...

Thanks,

Hi,

Got photos of 360 from my dad.

The building behind me and 360 is a theater that is named after a founder of Hitachi, LTD.

Are the Hitachi brand carburetors any good?

Thanks for looking!

Thank you for sharing those wonderful photos,

I bet that those contain lots of great memories...

Hitachi carburetors are Good, while they are New or unmolested for years,

But once those get worn or has been "Touched" frequently,

They become Craptachi... usually.

Kind Regards.

Those are some wonderful pictures. I love looking at old photos, mostly to see how things have changed over the years.

I know on my Brat, the Weber Carb is supposed to be the go to carb on these early motors. I'm not too familiar with the Subaru 360's but it might be worth looking into if a Weber fits on that motor.

welcome...cant wait to see pics of your brat.....I would dismantle the carb and check the accelerator pump cylinder wall for scratches and pits. sometimes you can hone these lightly with a 2000 grit wet/dry paper given they are not scratched too bad. thats the main thing i look for because if they go bad the carb is toast. also check the base for over-torquing by placing a straight edge of some sort like a ruler to see if it is warped. you can also fix this by sanding the surface flat again. if your not worried about keeping her stock and want power get a weber kit and all your troubles are gone.
