Engine harness (es)

Featured Replies

Doing a swap, and I have a 1997 2.5 DOHC out of an Auto. Outback. The harness has been hacked up in the past so I don't trust it. What years are compatible with this engine and do I need to shop Tranny specific for the ECM?

Engine side or Car Side and what engine are you swapping in?

95-99 2.2 and 2.5 engine harness are pretty much the same, some minor differences.  96-99 2.5 DOHC will plug and play for sure.

I am installing a 1997 DOHC from an Outback Lego into a '88 Vanagon. So I will be needing the Engine Harness.

 That helps. Thanks!

There is a difference in the 99 2.2 harness. The ECT and gauge wires were combined while before they were separate.

^^^along with being a phase 2 engine with different injector plugs and iacv.
