My 2005 outback, the passenger side seat belt pressure switch is stuck. If i engage the seat belt it stops. Normally I wouldnt care but I know the airbag does. 

 

Is this sensor/switch replaceable?

Should be, but you might have to get the whole pad. I know one some cars, they have to be calibrated, but I'm not sure on these. Won't hurt to call the dealer's parts department.

Did you try punching it?

 

I'm not sure if the seat belt dohickie and the airbag use the same sensor. Is the passenger airbag "off" light illuminated?

Ohhhh i never thought of that. I think its off I will check tomorrow. 

I'm so ghetto that my first instinct response would be to get the end of seatbelt out of a junker and leave it plugged in on the passenger side till I felt like dealing with wires

id be the person to disable the seat switch so the car thinks theres never anyone in the passenger seat.

I have a 2005 as well. There is  a method to disable the dings. I'll do a search of my posts and report back.

Found it:

Turn the ignition key to on but DO NOT start the car.

Now buckle and unbuckle the drivers seatbelt about ten or fifteen times QUICKLY and then turn the ignition key to off. Now turn the key on and start the car as normal. If you were successful as I was on my 05 OB, the chime will chime 5 times when you first turn the key to on and then stop. It will also disable the seatbelt warning for the passenger seat.

Airbag is off, so its just the seat belt.
