Hey yall. I am looking for some help with either rebuilding/refreshing my ea62 which is in an amphibious atv I am restoring or swapping in something else. If I swap it would have to be able to bolt up to my type 1 vw transmission. Also width is limited and weight is critical. Any input would be helpful. Also is there anywhere I can get parts for the ea62 besides ebay?

 

Possible swap I am looking at:

 

EJ22.   Can a Type 1 VW trans handle this much power? 

 

 

yes a vw trans cam hold that power, they do thousands of times a day, if they are in decent shape

 

the ej22 into a vw is a common swap

Where did you get an ea62 from

Why not just use a 1600 VW motor.  Much more abundant and tons of parts available.  Sell the ea62 to someone who owns a vintage subaru.

where are you going to find parts for that EA62 sir? if anything breaks on it, i dont even know what to tell you, put the effort of swapping into another engine.
