Hi,

I'm Jeremy and I live in Lake Stevens, Washington. I have a 1983 Turbo Brat that needs some serious help.

A friend of mine was supposed to help me restore it during last winter, then without telling me he up and left for Alaska after pulling the dash out. I am now stuck with a non-drivable truck.

I don't have a lot of money, so taking it to a shop is out of the question. If any of you would be willing to help me put it back together I would really appreciate it.

Thanks for your time.

isn't it drivable without the dash?  i've driven around Subaru's multiple times without any instrument cluster and associated bits in place, doubt the HVAC/Radio/dash stuff matters for drivability.  not saying it's ideal but you might have options other than being stuck.

Hi Jeremy,

Is this the Green EA81T Brat with swapped 4 speed manual D/R trans, a rear disc brake conversion, and rust in the dash?

Considering that it has no fenders, front end, hood, vent, or windshield wipers attached I don't think it's going anywhere anytime soon. All of which I can handle.

I just don't know anything about wiring, so yes I'm stuck.

Sorry I should have been more clear.

And the worst part is that the battery tray is about to fall out of the engine bay, but i have friend willing to weld new sheet steel in place for me.

If the worst part is getting fixed, the rest can't be that bad!

Finding someone to do the work for free is gonna be hard, take pics of the things you have questions about and post em up. I'm sure you'll get enough help through the forums to piece it back together yourself. There's lots of free help on the internet, it just takes a bit of work.

I was more hoping to barter with someone maybe for parts or yard work. Something of that nature.

Post some pics. I live in lake stevens. I might be able to help out with some of the wiring.

Nope, mine is blue. I've never posted about it before, but it does have a rear disc brake conversion. :)

I hope to get photos up this week. Anyone know what front clips crossover?

Front clip - like the font "face" of the car to hol headlights, rad support etc? Your body style would include 1980-84 wagons, 80-89 hatchbacks and 82-87 Brat with some subtle differences. Google image searches by year will show you the changes in headlight design but I don't know that this changes your ability to put existing headlight on.
