  1. They have relay unit that controls the fuel pump when the car is running. If the relay is bad it won't turn the fuel pump on. I had to wire the fuel pump to come on with the key in one of mine before. I've also had the rear fuel filter completely clogged.
  2. Service manual says Clearance between rocker arm and shaft:.0005-.0020 Inner diameter of rocker arm:.7093-.7100 Outer diameter of shaft:.7080-.7088 I know the location of the spring washers on the shaft is important. Not sure if the direction is.
  3. This might help. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/146014-bushings/
  4. I did the same thing about two years ago. The only issue I have had so far is the choke screws backed out. Which could have been loose when I received it. So I took it apart and used some medium loctite to hold them in and haven't had a problem since.
  5. I installed RS seats in my brat. If you use the brat seat brackets the seats sit lower to the floor. Not to sure if you gain leg room. If you use the seat brackets from the original brat seats it isnt that hard to do and seats sit low. Cut a couple pieces of steel and drill some holes. But if you modify the RS seat brackets to work the seats sit pretty high. This was also a bit more work.
  6. Pretty cool! Have any other pictures of the brat? Did it come with the cowl on the roof?
  7. Leeroy is correct about the ea81 not mounting to the top Mount starter transmission. I just did this swap over the weekend and had to use the ea81 transmission because they do not line up. Also depending on what type and year ea71 car you have there is a couple other little things that need to be changed.
  8. Did you have a hard time putting that on? Any pointers?
  9. Pics would be awesome. I have been debating on this for a long time haha
  10. I know this is a old thread but did you ever get the third light sorted out? If so where did you end up hooking the wires from the switch to?
  11. Post some pics. I live in lake stevens. I might be able to help out with some of the wiring.
  12. Wish i saw this post sooner. I did the same thing you did. The heater core didn't work from rock auto. After i sent some pictures they accepted it and gave me my money back but i was out on the shipping charges. I have bought to from the local part store (o'reilly's) and they have lined up and worked great.
  13. I am having the same issue. I did some research to try and find one that would interchange but decided im going to get it rebuilt. I heard this place was good at it but haven't tried them out yet. I read they can rebuild the vacuum advance or the whole distributor. http://www.philbingroup.com/rebuilt/distributors.htm Besides that there is a thread on here about rebuilding the vacuum advance your self somewhere. If i can find it ill link it.
  14. Was having the same problem on my buddies brat. this helped. thanks guys!
