5 lug swap on 85 gl HELP!

Featured Replies

So I'm planning on doing a ej22 swap in my wagon but there's a lot of things i need to plan out before I can do so. One of those things being how am I going to do a 5 lug swap so i can have a better suspension system in my gl, have easier and cheaper access to wheels, and also be able to lower it easier.

So here is my question for you guys:

Is it possible to put 95 legacy suspension in my gl and if so, how do I do it?

just for clarification, i am aware that the EA transmission is 23 spline and the leggy is 25 spline. I do plan on putting the leggy 5spd tranny in it so I do not have worry about that

Welcome! This has been covered hundreds if not thousands of times here. There are stickies, writeups, build threads, etc. There are probably a dozen specific ways to do it.

Short version is, most of the front will work, almost none of the rear will without EXTREME fabrication. You will need 4WD XT6 rear hubs.

What year of xt6 should I pull it from? And what problems will I run into with the front suspension?

year doesn't  matter, all 88-91 XT6's are the same in regards to mechanical components.

Thanks for your help! Could you possibly post a link to a write up/pdf/document on this swap?? I seem to be having trouble finding one...
