Hi all, I'm looking to swap a 2001 legacy ej22 engine into a volkswagon bus. I have someone to help me as I am not yet "mechanically inclined" I was just wondering what parts I would need and around how much the whole proceedure would run me. I appreciate the help!

Also what would my mpg be?

If you google, "subaru engine into vw bus," you will find a bunch written on this subject, and some u-tube videos as well. Buy, maybe you have seen all this??

yeah, might be worth researching swaps over at NASIOC too.

Go to kennedyeng.com and look under the "Vanagon" link.  This will tell you the conversion parts you will need outside of the Subaru stuff.

 

Our website, ccrengines.com has a list of stuff under the "VW Conversion" link.  Just be sure all the electronics (wiring harnesses, ECU, sensors, etc.) all come from the same vehicle.
