Back glass measurement

Featured Replies

Can anyone post measurements for the back glass of a FF1 and gen 1 DL sedan? Are the corners square or rounded?

I think that the rear glass of the ff1 is rounded and the Leone's 4door Sedan is square.

Some based off the info, I decided to order a DL gasket I found since I could find nothing for a GL. Well, as I suspected it does not fit. Actually, the width is spot on, but the height is about 1.75" too short. Looks like I will need to splice a section of the old gasket in. I guess a 90% new gasket is better than nothing.

You cannot buy the rear gasket for the coupe but you can for the sedan. As you have discovered the coupe rear screens are quite a bit bigger in height.

I think it should be possible to buy two sedan gaskets and splice them together to make one.

The only available gasket is based on the 1600 version too (not the 1400) as there is no provision for the chrome reveal moulding along the bottom and the corners are rounded. Not really a problem, just different and pretty much hidden by the boot lid. Trunk lid for you!

Later Gen 2 chrome trim is metal backed plastic and far more durable than the early all plastic version but is the same size in width and can be made to fit.

Where did you find a sedan rear window gasket!?

That's the last leaky part I need to replace on my 74.

Asks the guy that dangled parts in front of me then pulled the line?

Phil's rotary/new old car company in AUS. Bought of ebay AUS.  :P

Gosh if you mean me I'm awful sorry.

Ctsuba is in horrible shape right now and I'm just totally unable to get any time at my storage.

I'm currently working two gigs with the second being an hour and a half drive if no traffic.

Very sorry. I'll truly make an effort asap

As for ctsuba's stuff I'm not sure what will happen or how soon.

The good thing is at the rate most of us do our "restorations" is about the same pace it takes for people to get parts found and out. Lol.

I'm so freakin bad at ever making time for storage I feel lots of guilt so please excuse this old chooch !! Lol

Earl's seats keep haunting me. :/

I'm hoping I can contribute some way. Pray to the six stars and maybe a rear gasket will arize from the heap or door seals ....or ???

Jesse , I know you're busy too but think about maybe doing a day of ripping my storage up with me. :) like maybe when it's not 85 out.

Hoping our summer does get dragged out like the winter did.

Bump for Mark
