Cooper Cobras

Featured Replies

There's a guy local to me that has a set of 4 raised white letter 205/60/13 Cooper Cobra Radial GT. Brand new never seen pavement. Still with the blue protective coating on the letters. He's asking $360 for the set! Can anyone provide some insight as to whether this is a good price or not? I know these are pure unobtanium, but id still like some input.

Thanks guys.

Read the DOT date codes and make sure you are happy with the age of the tires as well.

Thats an excellent price if they are less than three years old. RWL's are difficult to find.

Ive got the same four in my garage, waiting to put on my brat restore, that's a great find consider they have not made them in over 5+ years  there is no rwl tires that size unless you get from austrailia I believe  the ones  you do see listed our OUt od stock meaning they will not make them again       been there done that

For sure, read the date code.   I have heard tires 'break down' with time.   Not just mileage.

Beginning in 2000, they used a 4-digit code.  Like wwyy (ww=week yy=year).   So 5205 would mean the tire was manufactured the 52 week of 2005.

Prior to 2000, they used a 3-digit code.    So 517   would be the 51st week of 1997  (or 1987, or 1977) ... because they didn't use a 2-digit year.

The  date could be imbedded  within  DOTEK6G DFM517    (517 is the date code)

Could be on either side of the tire, or both sides if you're lucky.

Thanks for the input, everyone. Think I'm going to pick them up this weekend, depending on the mfg. date. Will post pictures when I get then.
