September 1, 201510 yr Liking this... The retirement plan is motor home and a towed vehicle to do the running around in. Got an '82 BRAT that needs the work done to it to fit the "toad" part of that plan.
September 1, 201510 yr Author That is the retirement plan here too. The old RV needs some interior work finished up but will be ready by the time we retire. The current toad is the Wifes 2012 Kia Sorento pulled on a dolly. The Auto roo is my daughters and the other I picked up cheap as a daily driver for the 80 mile round trip to work. It uses a lot less gas than my old Dodge.
September 2, 201510 yr Author I love the old Dodge and it does get 18 to 19 mpg going to and from work. It even got 17 mpg pulling the one subie on a Uhaul transporter. The old Slant six could smell every hill a mile away but it did do the job. That 3/4 ton looks great. Edited September 2, 201510 yr by pzookey
September 2, 201510 yr Author Here is one of the RV with the current toad. In a few years when the last kid leaves the nest I would like to get a Brat or a Scout to use as a Toad.
September 2, 201510 yr Author Thank you. Finished the head gasket job on the daughters Outback and during a long test drive it started shuddering. It seamed to be coming from the transfer case so I put the fuse in to disable it. No more shudder and it runs like a scalded dog. Looks like I will be looking at changing a Transaxle soon unless I find it is something simple.
