JDM projector headlights

Featured Replies

hi all,

Just wondering how simple a JDM projector headlight installation would be on a 98 Legacy. Different wiring harness? Aiming?

Thanks!

The installation is not the problem.

The problem is to use Headlights designed for Right Hand Drive, on Left Hand Drive traffic, your car will be Blinding each incoming driver while getting a dark spot where you need the most of the Light, because they focus the beam on the Wrong side of the Road.

Be Careful... Kind Regards.

From the little research I've done, some people say the headlights are adjustable/able to be aimed and others say they're not... Are they?

They are adjustable, but they aren't designed to be adjusted that far.  The REAL problem is that there are cutoff plates mounted between the light source and the projector lens that are different on LHD vs. RHD cars.  Even if you use up all the "adjustment" in the lamp, you can never correct for the cutoff being backwards.

The only true fix is to retrofit U.S. spec projector assemblies from some other vehicle into the legacy projector headlamp housing.

What bulbs do they take? Just want to order some while the lights are being shipped

And what about the harness? Is it plug-and-play?
