where can I get new oil pressure unit?

Featured Replies

The oil pressure thingy on the bottom front of the oil pump is leaking and needs to be replaced. I've been looking around on the web but it doesn't look like anyone sells them. I hate to pay dealer prices but is this a dealer-only item? Anyone know who's got them cheaper? I was also thinking of a junkyard but I'm skeptical about using another unit with a gazillion miles on it as well.

Is it leaking from the threads? If so, then try wrapping some teflon tape around the threads or something else that would seal it.

34!, wow, I think I paid 14 for mine.(at napa)

Yes the teflon helps the oil from leaking through the threads.

yeah i bought 1 from one stop down here for 17 bucks so its not a dealer only item i would think.

Have you guys got oil pressure lights? That one goes for $8. There is a second line Napa one for gauge listed (wasn't at work to check for last post) for $22, but nothing cheaper.

If the leak is around the threads, teflon tape would work - but so might just tightening it up. They are pipe threads - designed to be torqued on.

If the leak is coming out the body of the sender, then it's time to start shopping.

Of course, if it were me, I might just head to the local Pick-N-Pull for one...
