2013 heated seats won't shut off

Featured Replies

I recently had my transmission and gas tank replaced due to a collision. I have a 2013 subaru impreza sport

Now the heated seats won't shut off. Could that be related?

Subywyo,

Possibly, since they have to take part of the console apart to remove the tranny shift mechanism when they removed the tranny, they most likely messed up the wiring for the seat heater switch, or the switch has broken in the on position. Take it back to whoever did the tranny and explain the situation. It should be an easy fix taking less than an hour to do. Good Luck!

Thanks. I'll do that. It was done at the dealership.

It's probably a broken switch. Could also be fluid (coffee, pop, etc.) spilled over it, and it's sticking. Pop is horrible as it'll never evaporate and remains tacky for years.

The "tacky" is sugar. It will not evaporate ever, just remain as a sticky residue.

pull the fuse as a temporary solution.

the switch that turns the heated seats on - is it a lighted switch - and is that light on?

There isn't sugar in most pops anymore. Coke, Sprite, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, Mountain Dew, etc. DO offer a 12 oz bottle at most gas stations, and those are sold with real sugar. Have to look at the ingredient label to be sure. They all pretty much taste like they did 30+ years ago. Pretty amazing how much the high fructose corn syrup alters the original flavors (almost always for the worse).
