April 23, 20169 yr My '85 BRAT was sold new in California. Is it the same as those sold new elsewhere? I recall that many cars in the 80's had California versions and 49 state versions to meet California's stricter emission standards. Stuff like different carburetors and such. Did Subaru do such a thing?
April 23, 20169 yr Author If any of those need replacement are they available? Can a 49 state part be interchanged?
April 24, 20169 yr There a still a few aftermarket direct fit CATs, the O2 is available and the ECU can be rebuilt. There are still two companies willing to work with the old Subie stuff. I got one for my XT GL10 a few years back. Edited April 24, 20169 yr by skishop69
