Air suspension for RXs?

Featured Replies

quick question for all you RX braniacs out there. dont know this one because I dont own an RX. Did The RX's come with that height adjusting air suspension stuff? was it ALL of them? or some? if some, what made the difference?

Thanks, Mike

Nope, the RX never came with air suspension. It would be a pain to install and very expensive to purchase, for the price of one shock/strut you can buy all four normal ones. Most people that I know want to get rid of their air suspension. I did on my GL-10.

r/x 6 or xt/6? anyway i got a chance to pick up a 2dr.coupe type w/a flat 6 ,are they a good machine like the nonturbo e81/e82 flat 4's. i heard there kind of touchy, frail?so are they tough, well built? true/false. todd

It is XT6, there was no RX6.

I'm a little confused here, you seem to be implying the EA82 turbos cars are not reliable, I have two of those type vehicles and they are very reliable. What makes them unreliable is some peoples minds it the same thing that makes any car unreliable, and that is poor maintenance.

You can replace the air suspension of the XT6 AWD with the front struts and rear shocks from a 2WD XT6.

From what I hear, the worst part of the XT6 is the electronic power steering, not so much for performance, but for replacement costs.

hey dr. i,m not biased. its just over the years i've seen trouble w/turbos. and yes lack of maintence probley had a part of it. i'm just asking around before i think of geting it. i'm good w/1978-1988,s i just don't want to get in over my head, with electronic power steering, air bags ect. it all sounds so advanced. anyway take care todd
