Rear Hatch opens a little

Featured Replies

My 2015 Outback rear hatch opens about a foot and freezes whether I use the dashboard switch, the switch on the rear hatch or the key button. It closes when I use any of the same switching methods.

Any ideas why and what I can do to get it to open all the way.

thx

Hi and Welcome to the USMB,

I'd start w/reviewing the Owner's Manual (you did read it cover to cover, right?  :) ).

Or call the dealer and talk to the Service Mgr. He/She may get that question a lot and have an answer @ the ready.....or they may have you bring it to fix under warranty.

Thanks, TD.  I'll give them a call.

some of the newer cars have a hatch height 'memory' function - I guess to help folks avoid damage if they have a low garage ceiling or opening?

anyway - I'm not sure a '15 has that function but you could look for that in the manual or search the internet.
