88 GL 3 Door Won't Start.

Featured Replies

Hello, this is my first post here. I've read quite a few posts and looks like an awesome group.

I drove this car yesterday and it was fine. It's a 1988 GL 3 Door 1800cc

shiftable 4wd with ohc and throttlebody. today it turned over like normal but

didn't start. I opened the hood and saw the coil wire off... I'm not sure how that happened. I put the coil wire back on the distributor and same thing.. it turned over great just won't start. I removed the dist.cap and the rotor turns. I scraped a bit of burn off the rotor but the cap looks fine and the rotor looked pretty good. I checked all the fuses and they're fine. I removed the throttlebody cover and there's fuel. Any ideas?????? It has new timing belts, seals, oil pump and fan belts. I could use a hint here. By the way.... Hello to all of you!!!!!!!!

Hi Turbone!! I took the wire off the distributor to test for spark and it looked really good so I put it back on and tested at the plug wire and it looks good there too. Very true... something else might of come loose so I'll look. If anybody has any ideas I'll sure check it out. Still not running, boing

PROBLEM SOLVED It turned out to be flooded and after 24 hours

of sitting it started and runs fine. When the coil wire was off and I tried

to start it, I flooded the heck out of it. Thanks to everybody for looking and responding!!!!!! boing
