November 8, 20169 yr Sorry for bringing up another tyre question, I can see there has been numerous of them, but I cant find the answer.. I bought these from a pickup owner and I need to know if they fit wagon DLs as well. My wagon is stock with drums on the rear axel. They seem to fit, but the hub caps doesnt fit when the wheel is mounted. And the white plastic ring/spacer/something is really brittle and doesnt look trustworthy. What happens if/when they brake? Why wasnt these rims made in the same specs as my old plain steel rims (as in not needing a plastic spacer to fit the drum -lip)? Thanks for any advice Edited November 8, 20169 yr by kleone
November 8, 20169 yr Its the drums, i just put new rear drums and had the same issue, some have the centering lip some do not
November 8, 20169 yr Author Ok so the lip doesnt matter, only the bolts/nuts? Also meaning that the plastic spacer thingy doesnt matter?
November 8, 20169 yr I believe it's intended for hardcore 4-wheeling and the white plastic is just for the hubcap. Basically that lip take some of the sheer pressure off of your lug nuts so that they're not the only thing holding your tire on and taking all the force of an impact. You could get an extra set of Hubcaps and bend them to where they fit and keep your stock so if you ever go back to using the other rims
November 9, 20169 yr Author Thanks alot. So the bolts are enough to hold the wheels... dont wanna lose my wheels
November 9, 20169 yr Yes,youll be fine, my 87 didn't have the centering lip until last year, but i would swap to disc rear anyways, too easy not too
