2010 Outback Engine Mount Bolts

Featured Replies

Room ably a bit of a silly question but where are the engine mount bolts on a 2010 2.5 Outback? I've been looking in my Hayes, Googling, and searching on here. I've come across a couple pictures and lots of 'undo to bolts' but not where they are or how to get to them.

I'm in the middle of replace the value cover gaskets and spark plug tube seals so any help would be much appreciated! (Pictures would be awesome :D) thank you!

Should be the same as the old Subaru's. 2 nuts accessed from underneath. They are on the studs that go through the front subframe, 1 on each side of the steering rack

Sometimes the exhaust system hides them . 14mm socket and wobble extension should get them.

Just crawl under the car, can't miss them.  look for the mounts that hold the engine - then look where they sit on the cross member - right under there are the engine mount nuts, as said they can often be close to vertically above the exaust routing.

can't see a 2010 being an issue but in general if the vehicles sees rust prone environments  a 6 point, preferably deep well socket is a good idea.  some sockets are short and don't fully seat on the nut due to the stud....again, not gonna matter on a 2010...

google search of Subaru engine mount nuts brings up a bunch.  Key note is that Subaru engine mount nuts haven't ever changed in principle for like 40 years so if you know one, you know them all:
