Beck/Arnley Timing Belt

Featured Replies

Is the Beck/Arnley timing belt any good?? I seem to remember that this company is a reseller of car parts to parts stores. I think put their name on other manufacturers goods. Cost is about $100 before using Advance Auto Parts internet coupon discount. With that price level, doesn't sound like a cheapie from China. Anyone have any experience with this company??

i dont have any experience with their timing belts, but IIRC they were/are an OE supplier of some parts.

I have used other parts of theirs with no problems, but it has been a while

look for a kit with a Mitsuboshi belt. I think I got mine from mizumoauto on ebay.

Chinese factories are definitely capable of turning-out good parts, but it seems so hit-or-miss, variable, not a bad idea to proceed carefully.

I have used 2 or 3 BA parts, the all seemed good.

Which engine?

At that price it probably doesn't come with a water pump and that should usually be changed as well.

Beck arnley does often rebrand other parts but I've had good luck with their suspension parts and some others. Haven't tried their timing belt kits.

On a pre-96 2.2 the cheap timing kits are usually fine for a 60k change interval.

For interference engines you should use a high quality or OE belt and OE brand idlers and tensioner for that longer 105k change interval. Look for bearings made by NSK, NTN, or Koyo. Aisin water pump.
