Might be an axle but kinda sounds like a tooth got knocked off the front pinion gear.

 

Jack it up and spin the wheels and see if anything makes noise.

Will do thanks! Do you think that is possible if my rack and pinion boot is torn? I've been riding with a torn rack and pinion boot for 6 months at least I will get back with more info as soon as I get it up on all fours

Not the rack and pinion. Sounds like the Front pinion gear inside the trans.

4x the wheel rotation speed. Driveshaft / u-joint or (hopefully not) a bad pinion gear.

That doesn't sound good at all. 

 

If it was the axle I'd expect drivability issues. 

If it was a driveshaft i'd expect vibrations. 

I'd be thinking front diff - drain the oil and check for debris/swimming silvery stuffs. 

 

But things can vary so it's hard to say. 

Put it up on a lift and try to turn the front wheels while in park.  Could be a broken short shaft ( between the axle and trans.)

Oh no! dammit man.. thats such a bummer if it is since i just got the tranny rebuilt like 6 months ago and I've always kept up with the fluid levels I have another video with a better view of where the clunk is coming from I'm uploading to youtube ill link it here when its done uploading i did the wheel rotation you recommended. In the video i jacked all four wheel in the air and put it in drive mode the front left wheel and axle to the front diff is where the clunking is coming from and is barley moving/able to keep up with the left from passenger side

Im hoping its the driveshaft/u-joint went bad! Will i have to take off the driveshaft completely in order to see if its messed up because i wasn't able to physically see any damage on the driveshaft or u-joint when I had the car jacked up and also removed the exhaust cover to get a better view of it.

It doesn't so much have a vibration to it more of a quick hard jolt every four-eight feet of movement regardless if going forward or backwards I am going to be draining the diff fluid to check for debris and will refill it. Should I do the same with the rear diff as well?

Ok will do! Man I'm just praying to the subaru gods it doesn't break my bank and then some lol my car won't turn the wheels if its in park even if the wheels are in the air. Im assuming you meant neutral? or maybe It does i don't recall ever trying that. In the video I'm uploading to youtube so i can link here i have the car jacked up with all wheels in the air and in Drive, the left driver side wheel and axle is barely able to keep up with the other side front passenger you will see what i mean when i put the video up the clunking noise is coming from in between the axle (cv joint/boot side) to where it connects to front diff (hoping not from the inside!)

I don't see any damage on the rear diff how does one tell if it's shot?

As I do that while car is off and on park with wheels up I don't hear a noise but it the tranny jolts like an almost up and down movememt

The jolting was definitely in the rear diff though, yes?

 

If one rear wheel was intermittently being driven the jolting transmitted through the driveline could make the trans jump.

The jolting/noise is in the front diff/tranny area, it has an up and down movement as I am manually spinning the left front wheel forward and even as I spin it backwards. The same jolting/noise occurs

Should the driveshaft have any play?
