March 16, 20179 yr Is there any way to remove the factory alarm from my outback. It goes into security mode (marker lights flashing) for no reason sometimes, and won't start. I don't have the remote button, and only about half the time hiring the lock button on the door will turn it off. Usually I have to remove the negative battery cable and reconnect it with key on. I have dealt with it for about a year, but now I'm going to sell the car and I need to fix it. Thanks
March 16, 20179 yr have you considered getting a key fob? probably get one from a forum member with a WTB listing in the classifieds ,or check ebay.
March 16, 20179 yr All alarms on 97's are dealer installed. Yes it can easily be removed - you just unplug it from under the dash. You can get key fobs very cheaply on ebay. Search for the FCC ID code "GOH-M24" GD
