97 outback

Featured Replies

Is there any way to remove the factory alarm from my outback. It goes into security mode (marker lights flashing) for no reason sometimes, and won't start. I don't have the remote button, and only about half the time hiring the lock button on the door will turn it off. Usually I have to remove the negative battery cable and reconnect it with key on.

I have dealt with it for about a year, but now I'm going to sell the car and I need to fix it.

Thanks

have you considered getting a key fob? probably get one from a forum member with a WTB listing in the classifieds ,or check ebay.

All alarms on 97's are dealer installed. Yes it can easily be removed - you just unplug it from under the dash.

You can get key fobs very cheaply on ebay. Search for the FCC ID code "GOH-M24"

Does unplugging it disable the power door locks. And also where under the dash is it. I can't find it
