March 23, 20179 yr Looking around, need to buy one for my 82 Brat. Looks like Ebay has several vendors, there's also a couple on Amazon. I don't really think you can go by the photos. I would like one that has a single piece mounting adapter if possible. I don't want a Chinese knock off. Anyone suggest a reputable supplier?
March 23, 20179 yr We can supply what you need and are intimately familiar with swapping them into Subaru's. We get them direct from Redline. They are owned by Worldpac, one of our major wholesalers. The EA81 adapter from Redline is a single piece unit. It is the EA82 version that is two piece. GD
March 24, 20179 yr Don't buy from the USMB... The purchasing software doesn't work properly and won't let the seller know that you have bought something.
March 27, 20179 yr Literally ordered one from carbs unlimited a couple of hours ago. I think GD suggested them in another thread. Look up the part numbers from the kit on redlines website then order everything separately on carbs unlimited. It's like 60 dollars cheaper than the kit.
March 28, 20179 yr Author Just looked at carbs unlimited. Wonder if those are jetted correctly, or the same as the redline kits?
March 28, 20179 yr Author did you get the universal linkage kit? Seems like some end up using parts from the old carb? Unfortunately I'm replacing a Carter so not sure if the linkage kit will be of much benefit more than what I could fabricate on my own. I have the proper manifold, but I'm thinking the throttle cable attaches on the opposite side of the engine compared to the Hitachi.
March 28, 20179 yr Yeah I got the $23 one just cuz mines kinda fucked up. I'm pretty sure it's opposite with the Carter carb.
March 28, 20179 yr I found a thread that might be helpful for you. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/100553-weber-carb-for-a-brat/
March 28, 20179 yr We can set you up if you want to call the shop or PM me. I can recommend jetting, etc. The factory DGEV jetting is quite good for the EA engines. Typically the EA82's want a 60 or 65 idle jet in place of the 50. If you have SPFI pistons then an even larger idle jet may be required. The rest of the jetting will be just fine. GD
March 28, 20179 yr heres a little known secret http://www.sjrlift.com/index.php/catalog/misc/weber-adapter-ea81-detail
