March 28, 20179 yr Hose Diameter - is that dependent on compressor fitting size? Meaning larger diameter is good even if the compressor fitting size stays the same? Seems obvious but I've never thought about this stuff since I got my first compressor a long time ago. Material - I can google this but rubber or hybrid or pcv ? March 29, 20179 yr My guess is bigger is better. Air tools require volume which a larger diameter hose should provide.
April 25, 20178 yr Hose size is determined by airflow required by the tool. And length of run if it's unusually long. Fittings should match hose size.
April 25, 20178 yr Author Thanks. I forget what hose I went with, I think rubber as it's more cold friendly. I went with some Milton V style or something fittings that have considerably larger internal ID's and flow a lot more air. They're apparently a substantial improvement over nominal fittings even if the hose diameter stays the same.
