82 BRAT Rocker Panels

Featured Replies

My '82 BRAT is Battling Cancer of the Rocker Panels. Is there any place to buy after market ones. Or does Anyone have a Driver and Passenger side set they'd want to sell?

The Mill Supply panels are probably the closest thing to new that you will find these days. Even though these are for an EA82 body I hear that they can be made to fit.

Other than that a it's time for the junk yard and a cordless sawzall

Thank You Sir. I feel bad that I transplanted my Washington Born Soobs to WNY. I don't even drive them in the winter and still, they were diagnosed with Cancer)):

These same rocker panels are currently on my 87 Brat. Oldest brother owns a body shop and installed them for me. Then sprayed them with a textured finish that he called rock guard. I got the impression from him they were easy to fit.

I'm putting them on my hatchback currently. With no previous bodywork or welding experience, I made them work, and they look almost stock.

One word of advice: If the sill directly under the door is still solid, preserve that edge line. I cut the entire rocker and sill out on the passenger side (first side I did) and regretted it later. I had to cut and bend a new piece to fit over the new rocker to recreate the edge under the door. Didn't make the same mistake on the other side and it cut down on a lot of work.
