June 18, 20178 yr Anyone have any thoughts on best catalytic converter options? Walker Davico Eastern Catalytic Bosal 2003 Forester X I checked with the temp guage and there is only a 50 degree difference between front and back temps.
June 18, 20178 yr At my shop we only use Bosal Ultra High Performance (or whatever it's called) typically good luck. IMO nothing lasts as long as OEM.
June 18, 20178 yr Author Thanks. I am not planning on owning this car for another 200k so I am ok with installing something a bit cheaper (you get what you pay for). Forgot to mention it already has one Spark Plug Anti Fouler at the rear O2 sensor
June 18, 20178 yr I think the bosals we put on tend to last up to like 4 years (sometimes sooner) then the lovely p0420 comes back. Ove never seen a bosal rust out like a lot of members complain about (and I'm in CT)
June 18, 20178 yr OEM or the code will come back. Pay now or pay later. GD Edited June 18, 20178 yr by GeneralDisorder
June 26, 20178 yr I am using a walker that I purchased from Amazon. It was replaced at about 3 years by Amazon without any issue due to some rust. It came a with a 5 year warranty. Never had any code issues.
June 26, 20178 yr Here's a company I have used from Ebay for 3 replacements thus far. Not one has come back with problems. They Fit EXACTLY as original, unlike many after market exhausts where they are 1/2' too short, or the bend is NOT QUITE CORRECT. First one now was over 2 years ago with no problems. They come out of Toronto and have a 5 year warranty. Below is a link for the last one I used for 2000-2005 Outback. But visit their store for others: http://www.ebay.com/...=item3d3ec45f30 Here's a link to their store since that one is now sold out: http://stores.ebay.com/Exhaust-Catalytic?_trksid=p2047675.l2563 Or you can contact them by clicking Contact Seller and send them a message. They were very easy to deal with. Edited June 26, 20178 yr by ferret
