1993 loyale window issue.

Featured Replies

New here blah blah just picked up 93 loyale and for some reason I can't get the driver side window to roll up or down, the motor spins and the buttons work it and the other windows, so I pulled the door panel and window and still can't find anything that stands out as being an obvious cause for it not running besides a metric ton of black silicone around the clips that hold the window. Am I missing some Subaru secret or do I just need to dig deeper into the door?

Not anything special.  Motor turns a worm drive reduction to a pinion gear.  A gear section is moved by that pinion, which moves the levers / linkages that push the window.

If the door mechanism is not moving even if you hear the motor running,  pull the motor and bench test it . Either internally or externally the torque is not being applied to the sliders, sliders are broken or glass is not in track.

So after searching and searching and even buying a Chilton manual. I found an installation guide for an Isuzu trooper window regulator which seemed to be the exact same one. I don't know if mine just didn't have a factory part or what because it didn't look like anything in the manual or online. https://youtu.be/9kNNAWwJP5g. Adding a video to maybe help someone in the future.

Also should note someone had taken it out and put it in sideways so it basically just pushed the lifter(?) Into the door panel.
