Wheel fitment

Featured Replies

Hello again. I'm considering upgrading the wheels and tires on my "new" 1995 Legacy L. I've found some OEM 16x6.5, 5 Lug, 100mm Bolt Pattern, 55mm Offset, 5 double spoke painted alloy wheel.

Subaru Part Number: 28111AE21A, 28119AG05A

Indent: SB21A, A99

Model Years:

Impreza '04-'05

Legacy '03-'06

Would anyone happen to know (or know of a source) if they will fit my car, and if so, what tire size would be ideal?

Thanks!

yes will fit.

use 215 or 225/55/16

60 series may also fit but will be larger than stock rolling diameter and might rub a little.

Man! THANK YOU!!! You guy's on this forum rock!

I wish the Yota forums were this helpful.

However, if wishes and buts were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry Christmas.

Thanks again.

Not to be too picky, but a 205-55-16 (24.9" tall), which is the stock tire size for some Imprezas of those years,  or a 205-50-16  (24.1") would be closer to your stock 185-70-14's height (24.2") and won't mess w/your speedo as much.

But if you want a little 'lift' Gloyale's will give you that, too....the 225-55-16 may rub on the rear spring perches. Probably wouldn't go over 215 on the width.

Alright, you guy's seem to know your stuff on tire/wheel combo's. So, my ride is a 1995 Legacy L wagon (sexy, I know) with P185/70R14 steel wheels and poverty caps.

My goal is to gain a wider stance and as much height as possible without screwing the whole thing up, i.e; rubs, and speedometer issues.

P.S.,

The car is also in need of new shock/struts. Would any of you happen to know of an option (or options) that would accommodate my goal?

I appreciate all of your feedback...the "pros" that I've been dealing with don't know shît from shineolla.

With those wheels he won't rub the perch, even with 225.  And the little extra tire will fill out the wheel well nicely.

Thanks Gloyale!

I sure hope that you're right...because I'm going to do just that, and "nicely" is exactly what I'm shooting for.

Having a roof rack and being a wagon, the stock wheel/tire combo make it look like it's rolling on skateboard wheels.

FWIW...225-60-16 rubbed on the rear struts of my OB-strutted '96 Legacy.

Strut and Lift upgrades are covered on here 'ad infinitum' so please search.

Quick answer: Get some '96-'99 OB struts or '98-'08 Forester struts, and spacers (Paranoid Fabrications is one). Bolt-on, alignment recommended, and Go.

Well shît. I'll have to think on it now.

Thank you (seriously)

like I said before........225/55/16 on the wheels the OP referenced.....won't rub.  60 series may rub a tiny bit.

Thanks Gloyale.

Please forgive my ignorance. I think that I'm clear in my understanding that "OB" is Outback, but I don't know what "OP" is. My car's a Legacy L wagon...so I'm a bit lost now.
