Anyone in the new river valley have a used 1998 year or close to it 5 speed and rear end?

Found full donor car with everything but 2blown heads what should I do for the best results

I know how to swap the parts and not to use 1 auto trans plug and the 4 pins on the other but can I change ecu to the auto harness???

Just use your ECU.

 

ECUs between '96-'98 should all swap Manual <> Automatic.....maybe '95 too,  but that's a transition year. This includes Legacy, Impreza and Forester....One thing i DID find is to ensure your charcoal canister location (front or rear) matches the ECUs, or  you'll get a purge valve error.

So it might be better to ground the pin in the stock ecu to make it read in manual mode
