Brat 5sp swap almost done.

Featured Replies

The swap went well, I used the trans, driveshaft, clutch disk, shifters and consol from a 87 3door. About all thats left to do is make some sort of radio surround to tie the 3dr console into the the Brat dash. Just need a Rockford u-joint for the driveshaft and it will be up and running.

Found a driveline shop, not far from me, that had the Rockford U-joints on there shelf. Thanks for info on the Chicago Rawhide part though.

Craven,

now sure if the low range matters to you or not, but the low range in a D/R from a 3 door, may have the 1.196 low range like the RX has.... instead of the 1.59?? like the wagon has....

Didn't know that, Thats allright though, I'm not going to do any Heavy Duty off roading or rock climbing with the Brat. Maybe a little sand dune action. More of a resto rod type street truck, somthing on the lines of Qman's road Brat. I am going to add some 14" wheels but keep the tires under 25" 225/60/14, so it should work. What do you think?
