Help With My New Subaru

Featured Replies

hey everyone,

I just got my subaru, its a Gl its a 1989 and thats all I know about it.

I want to make it into a street worthy car that has guts. What can I do to it to make it street worthy.

Need more info

Auto or manual?

Turbo or SPFI?

What do you mean by 'street worthy'?

It will never be fast. Just start with that assumption and enjoy it for what it is.

I have what is probably one of the top 10 fastest EA82s here, and its a slug (the ones that are faster are waayyy more heavily modified than mine)..

haha they can still be fun cars though. Dont buy a soob if you want a rocket on the paved but for dirt tracks or climbin rocks they are king for their price. Did you see the latest rallycross info? An ea82 was holdin his and barely got 2nd to a WRX. Not to mention the fact that you cant work on a WRX or most any new car for that matter without a fair bit of experience. You can come to the board and ask a question about how to do something and have an answer in a couple minutes. Welcome to the board.

Without knowing much about it, there are a lot of cheap mods, and a lot of more expensive mods. You can do a lot to it, but its never going to be a 12 second car unless you want to spend some serious money.
