August 17, 20196 yr So a neighbor disconnected my horn a year or so ago because it was triggered and had been going off for an hour or more. He was able to do it easily by crawling under the car but we can't figure out how to plug it back in. We can't even find the horn. I drive a 2005 outback. I think it is a limited edition if that helps. Can anybody give me some tips on where to find the horn and if it should be easy to reconnect. Please. thank you,
August 18, 20196 yr It's been a while but as I recall, the 2005 horns are mounted in front of the radiator behind the lower part of the front grill just above the bumper. The wires originally we secured to a point near them, so unless someone pullled or cut them off they should be nearby.
August 20, 20196 yr Author I got it reonnected so that the horn chimes when I lock the door yet the horn itself doesn't sound when I press the steering wheel. Any suggestions on that? Thank you, Craig
August 20, 20196 yr possible clock spring/roll connector problem? try holding the horn down and turning the steering wheel - maybe it's intermittent and you'll hear a chirp - that would cinch it.
