June 22, 20205 yr Ok guys either I'm searching for related info wrong, or my "smartphone" is being a P.I.A., probably the latter. I have an '07 Legacy 2.5i Special Edition that the previous owner "cooked". I have two self service salvage yards local with a bunch of subies in them. My question is what years of 2.5 SOHC engines will interchange with my 07 without to much swapping of parts? I will eventually build the factory engine so I'll keep it, i just need to get it going asap.
June 22, 20205 yr 05 up to10 You will have to swap the heads as you do not have avls on an 05. Not sure what difference there may be in later years, but keep the heads and IM O. Edited June 23, 20205 yr by ocei77 correction
June 23, 20205 yr It's typically 2006 to 2010 that would be a direct bolt in. The 05's usually are not AVLS, and the 11+ engines are quite different externally. GD
