I have a Brat with bad ball joints.  I looked on rock auto and all the ball joints listed are the same part numbers for the EA82 cars.  I read that the ball joints are different from EA81 to EA82, so I was just wondering what people on this board had to say about it?  Is there a different sournce for ball joints or a part number we know works on EA81 cars.

Brats use the same ball joint as ea82 parts. Just look up your parts for an 83-84 Brat or any ea81 car.

Go with Subaru part or this one. I just replaced mine a couple of months ago with the BA part. It is the Three Five brand from Japan and most likely the original part. Cheaper at RA if shipping does not get you.

Subaru or OEM supplier.  If you’ve never seen a ball joint fail catastrophically you can probably google it - it’s not a pretty sight or worth buying aftermarket.

Get a good ball joint tool, real easy to mess up stamped metal control arms trying to get stuck ball joints out.

Yeah I have one.  Its works well, already did 4 joints on EA82 cars with it.
