Subie_2000 Posted November 5, 2021 Share Posted November 5, 2021 Hi i need to swap out the trans in my 2000 Subaru Outback 2.5l auto 4eat. I need help to make sure what i buy is compatible. Can any 00 01 02 03 04 outback used 4eat trans plug and play fit and electrically connect in my 00 outback? Ive read that the gear ratios are the same across these years, but i dont know anything about the rest or electrical connections, harnesses, etc. Please help. I need to buy the right one. Numbchux Posted November 5, 2021 Share Posted November 5, 2021 04 was a revision, and, from what I understand, the valve body changed, so it will not work correctly with the older TCU. 4-cyl and H6 have different gear ratios. Numbchux Posted November 8, 2021 Share Posted November 8, 2021 That's interesting that the interchange only shows 2000. I'm not aware of any differences between 2000, and 01-03.
