I've been reading all sorts of posts that refer to the lugs for pug rims. What is so special about the lugs for these rims? I am contemplating lifting my Brat:brow: , but will have to get some 14s first. So do you need special lug nuts or what?

as far as i know, only the alloys need the special nuts. with the steels you can use the open nuts, or acorns, from your subaru. the alloy nuts have a little rotating cup on the bottom, and are closed acorns, that fit on the subaru lugs.

for the steels, the stock soobie nuts will work fine....

 

for the 15" alloys, you need the special nuts Archemitis refers to. for the 14's, I believe you can use either....

There is one type of steel 14 that takes special lugs as well, but they aren't terribly common.
