What's your thought on Amsoil CVT fluid?  Is it better to stick with Subaru for this application or is Amsoil equal/better?

We use it exclusively except in the cases where we are installing a Subaru remanufactured CVT assembly. In those cases we get the fluid and the cooler flush from the dealer on the same ticket in case of a need to engage the warranty at any point in the future. After the 24 month warranty expires we switch them over to Amsoil.

Have not had any transmission failures on CVT's that we service with Amsoil. Plenty of valve body electrical problems but no failures that are fluid related.

* edit my bad I didn’t see that he had replied.

I’m almost positives he said he uses it. I bought Amsoil cvt for my 2013 and nearly positive I saw him talking about it. I’ll be doing a 2016 i just picked up shortly and will use it again.  You could search his user name and Amsoil or maybe CVT to find his comments here.

We run Amsoil 5w40 for everything under ~400 WHP.

Which one? I saw a “European” and Diesel formulation, and maybe theres others?

Edited my post..... the 5w40 is a Euro formula. The black cap "full SAPS" version.
