Leaking heater core on '98 Legacy L Wagon

Featured Replies

Our '98 Legacy L wagon with the EJ2.2, auto and 133k on the clock has a very strong sweet smell of coolant coming from the vents inside the car when the heat is on. But the heater core is not leaking inside the car yet and I can't smell it outside the car. Anyone have this problem yet on there '98 Roo's with this kind of miles??

Have a small lake in the passenger side floor board in my '98 OBW, the car has lil over 200K on it, going to a u-pull it yard and getting a different box and core, might as well since the entire dash gets to come out. The blower motor had been whinning for a bit, then the lake. Any luck with yours?

Peace

hippyatheart- you sure that its coolant in the P/S floorboard area and not H20 from a clogged EVAP water drain?

I'm goin to kick myself repeatedly if it is, i'm not smelling sweet anything.....hmmmm

Are you sure its not coming from under the hood. !st thing i would do is get a pressure test on the cooling system. If it fails that look for leaking hoses first before you put in a bottle of stop leak.
